By 23rd August 2012Activities, Music, Uncategorized

Summers has been, summer is almost gone, this weekend delivers the last real bank holiday of the year. So if You’re feeling sad that you are not attending one of the many festivals going on in the UK this weekend, then Beatcheck is here to offer our top tips for this August bank holiday in Milton Keynes.

Thursday 23rd: Pop up Boutique, The Slug and Lettuce: (Event link here)

Feels like everywhere to look there is a spot of vintage now days, now is your chance to catch up with the past and have a drink while you do it. Vintage and retro stuff to buy and vintage cocktail sausages to munch.  A delightful and pleasant start to ease you in to the weekend.

Friday 24th, Violet bones, The Watershed, Newport Pagnell
: (Event link here)

Violet bones hit up the dirty little art hole. The  4 piece garage rock band from Cambridge have supported the likes of New York Dolls, Cage The Elephant, Ash, Tribes and Pulled Apart By Horses. This is going to be an amazing, intimate & sweaty gig, but not in a sexy way….

Saturday 25th, Pirate beach party, The Crauford Arms: (Event link here)

We all like a bit of beach time in summer and we all love pirates. Sod it, why not have a pirate beach party in the middle of Wolverton. Expect rum, bottles of Jack and really crap pirate jokes….

Sunday 26th, Nick Grimshaw, wonderworld: (Event link here)

If you like Nick Grimshaw and you are a fan of silly hair and trousers so tight it’s like looking in to a butchers window, then this might be for you.

Beatcheck’s recommended: The Sunday blow out…..

The Buzsy get taken over for a day time Secret Garden party, its not just any party. Amsterdam-based DJ and producer LAUHAUS has been brought in to spin some day time beats. Kicking off at 1pm with underground house being blasted through a huge Funktion one soundsystem. Click here for the event page.

Then its time to let the animal shine, take the hike up to Revolution for The Trapped bank holiday special, for their “zoo themed” party. Time to crack out the Zebra outfit or Walrus costume and enjoy a massive line up. Claus Willhelm, Ollie King and MK’s own Lee Clarke. Click here to find out more.

Happy weekend people.
